The outsole of Brooks Glycerin GTS is made from blown rubber in the forefoot. This is durable rubber and will provide you with excellent durability and flexibility.
Being an almost full-contact outsole, it provides ample protection to the outsole and will keep it from falling apart early.
Also, this forefoot rubber has grooves made in them to provide you with an easier heel-to-toe transition.

Since Brooks Glycerin GTS is not an exception, we will have the same protection from them and your knees will stay protected in this while your overpronation is being controlled.
The outsole of Brooks Ghost is also a full-length outsole made from blown rubber. The heel area of this shoe has a more durable rubber to protect the heels if you are a heel striker.
The gap under the second flex groove is fused to provide you with little more support during toe-off. This is more important for the underpronators as they need that support during toe push-off.
Overall this sole will last you for a long time and you will be able to enjoy this new Ghost for a good amount of time.
Midsole
The midsole of Brooks Glycerin GTS is made from full-length DNA LOFT. This is a soft cushioning that will provide you with a plush and cushy ride.
It is comfortable non-squishy and will not pack out under your eight, However, since DNA LOFT is one of the softest midsole materials from Brooks, it will provide you with a soft and premium underfoot feel.
This material is very shock absorbent and will provide you with a well-cushioned ride.
Being on the softer side, you may feel that the responsiveness of this running shoe is a bit less. However, it is a happy tradeoff with the amount of additional comfort that you will get.
The forefoot of Brooks Glycerin GTS has some grooves. This provides you with a smoother heel-to-toe transition.
The midsole of Brooks Ghost is made from DNA LOFT. This is soft midsole material that will provide you with plush cushioning.
If you compare this version of Brooks Ghost with the previous one, there is a minor change with the midsole. The medial side foam density and lateral side foam density of the latest version of Brooks Ghost are the same.
However, this means that this Ghost is perfect for the neutral runners, however, it is not very supportive of the underpronators. To combat that, Brooks has fused the outsole gap under the first metatarsal.
This midsole is resilient and will provide you with excellent cushioning providing you with a comfortable ride.
Brooks Ghost’s midsole has omega flex grooves in the forefoot. This provides you with optimal forefoot flexibility without compromising the cushioning.
Also, the segmented crash pad flexes with the foot providing you a customized cushioning and stability for a smooth heel-to-toe transition.
Upper
The upper of Asics Gel Nimbus is made from Engineered Mesh. It is breathable and lightweight and provides you with a customized fit.
This mesh flexes with your feet providing you with a natural and non-restrictive running experience. Also, the midpart of the upper is a bit narrow providing you with an excellent and secure fit.
The upper of Brooks Ghost is made from 3D Fit Print mesh. This is lightweight and breathable. If you compare it with the previous version, it is slightly lighter and more breathable is what I feel.

There is one big change with the upper is the laces. Brooks Ghost in this version has introduced flat laces which is surprising as their previous round laces were one of the best in its class.
