Bye bye money! Do you feel like this when you try to buy a new running shoe? Everything is so expensive.

However, we have found some hidden gems for you that are in the price range of $50-$70. Apart from proper cushioning, the support they also have another thing in common, they are super affordable.

✅ My personal favorite is ASICS GEL-Venture 8. This is also a bestseller on Amazon and is one of the best running shoes under $70.

However, there are 9 more options to choose from.

So let’s check out what are these shoes…

Also, if you are just starting our and would like to go for a more cushioned option, then you can check these running shoes for heavier built.

This shoe is made of synthetic material.

Sole is made of durable rubber, so the level of wear and tear is really low.

In the rear part of the foot, you will have the GEL-Cushioning System.

This gives a better shock absorption when your foot strikes the ground

The sockliner is removable. So, if you can comfortably replace it with an orthotic sockliner if needed.

The shoe weighs around 12 Ounces which is neither light nor heavy.

Also, this running shoe is great for runners with neutral or mild underpronation.

  •   Strong built for trail running
  •   Very comfortable even when you go for long runs
  •   The fit of the shoe is wide
  •   True to its size
  •   Extra support is there at the sides as well as heels
  •    The heel collar is very cushy
  •   Excellent Grip
  •   Affordable price
 NEGATIVES
  •   Some users found that the responsiveness of the shoe was not up to the mark.
  •   For some, the shoe felt bulky.

My Final Opinion

For me, Asics Gel Venture 7 is a very good running shoe.

It has an excellent grip on the roads and the trials due to aggressive lugs present on the soles

Venture 6 has better support than that of its previous versions.

In fact, one of my friends said that her Plantar Fascitis pain has also reduced

The only drawback that I see is the missing second eyelet. I will be happy to ignore it given that the shoe is excellent overall.

This shoe is made up of synthetic material.

The rubber sole is very soft and cushy.

The upper of this shoe is made up of mesh.

This makes the shoe extremely breathable

The midsole is made up of foam material.

This makes the shoe very lightweight

Also, this gives you a very soft and cushiony feel under your feet.

All these cushioning doesn’t take away the responsiveness of the shoe.

So, you will get a decent energy return whenever you need it.

  •   Excellent fit due to the presence of Mesh Upper
  •   Lightweight as the midsole is made up of foam kind of material
  •   Very comfortable and gives you a plush feeling
  •   Great breathability
  •   Machine washable which is a great feature
 NEGATIVES
  •   Some of you might find that the insole support is less
  •   Flexibility may be an issue for some
  •  The midsole is not very durable

My Final Opinion

If you are someone who is like simplicity, then this is the shoe for you. Nike Revolution 4 is comfortable and lightweight.

The insoles are a bit annoying as they don’t provide great support. However, the outsole has a great grip on the roads.

Hence, it is better to try and then this pair of shoes…

Also, due to the lesser durability of the foam, it is better not to use it every day.

The outsole of this shoe is made up of HPR Plus rubber. This kind of rubber is abrasion-resistant.

Also, it will give you an ample amount of traction on various kinds of surfaces.

The midsole is made up of Brooks proprietary BioMoGo DNA foam.

This is adaptive to your foot and gives very good cushioning for your foot strike.

The upper is made up of mesh and makes it very breathable.

Also, the inner lining of this mesh is soft and smooth, giving you a plush feeling inside the shoe.

  •   The Toe-Box is roomy and you will have no problem even if you have wide feet.
  •   It is lightweight and comfortable
  •   It provides you with ample arch support to give you the best possible running experience.
  •   The look of this shoe is aesthetically pleasing as it has a minimalistic look
 NEGATIVES
  • ⤫ Some of our users felt that the level of cushioning is less.
  • ⤫ Some of you may feel that the shoe is heavy.
  • ⤫ Durability is not good, nor bad.

My Final Opinion

This is an excellent daily running shoe, much better than most of the shoes in its class.

Though I agree that there are minor glitches, however, if they are not an earth-shattering problem for you.

So I would recommend you to give it a try Brooks Anthem (Women)

The upper of this shoe is made up of mainly two components.

A mesh covering around 60% of the upper and 40% is made up of synthetic material.

Due to this, this shoe is very breathable and you will not feel stuffy wearing them.

It furnishes a low-cut design but most of our users did not feel any problem near the ankle area.

CMEVA or Compression-Molded EVA mid-sole runs full-length.

This makes the shoe very lightweight and comfortable.

The Sockliner is made of memory foam. This gives extra comfort to your feet.

The outsole of Road Runner is made of high abrasion rubber.

So, you will get a highly durable outsole that is free from wear and tear for a long time.

  •   The fit is decent and feels comfortable to wear.
  •   The insoles are soft courtesy memory tech.
  •   Mesh upper makes it extremely breathable.
  •   Pop colors will make you stand out from the crowd.
  •   High abrasion rubber outsole and CMEVA mid-sole makes it extremely durable.
 NEGATIVES
  •   Some feel cushion is not good for running.
  •   The materials of the shoes are not that soft.
  •   You may feel some road heat as there is no gel cushion present in this shoe.

My Final Opinion

The road heat getting inside the shoe (though minimal) can make you feel a bit uncomfortable. That is the reason we have given it a 3.5 rating.

However, since Reebok Road Runner 2.0 MT doesn’t have a gel cushion, this is expected behavior.

Overall a decent shoe for everyday running and at a bargain price

As with most of the shoes, there are only two types of materials in Mizuno Wave Shadow.

The upper mesh, laces, and some parts of the inner of the shoe fall in the textile category.

Whereas, the rest like the midsole, outsole, etc, are mostly synthetic.

The upper has what Mizuno calls as Flex Eyelets. Also, the Mesh itself is stretchable.

Combining these two, you get Mizuno’s proprietary fit called, Mizuno Dynamotion Fit.

U4icX Strobel lining will give you an enhanced level of comfort.

The sockline also has an anatomical design. This gives you a better fit and added comfort.

The forefoot has numerous flex groves. This makes that portion of the shoe very flexible.

Due to this, you get a more natural range of motion.

Also, since the insoles are detachable, Orthotic insoles can be used if you have any special needs.

  •   Mizuno wave shadow is very lightweight.
  •   The feel is extremely natural and comfortable.
  •   Great color combinations help you to make a style statement.
  •   An ideal shoe for uptempo.
  •   If you have pronation, this shoe can provide ample support.
 NEGATIVES
  •   If you have wide feet, the toe-box can feel narrow.
  •   Also, for some, the midsection is tight.
  •   Some may feel that the sole is a bit stiff.
  •   You may feel that the shoe doesn’t have sufficient cushioning.

My Final Opinion

Mizuno Wave Shadow is a responsive shoe, which makes you stand out in a crowd.

This is an overall good shoe, however, the size is a bit messed up.

So, I would recommend that you go for half a size bigger. This way you can get a perfect fit.

Also, don’t use these for marathons, use them for short or tempo runs.

If you are interested in Marathons, here is a review of the 10 best marathon shoes.

This shoe comes from the house of Adidas and is made up of a combination of mesh and synthetic.

The outer sole is made up of high abrasive rubber. This gives it a superior grip on any surface.

It is a lightweight shoe and weighs only 9 ounces for a size 7.

The upper constructed out of highly breathable mesh.

The main cushioning of this shoe comes from the midsole.

This midsole is made up of Cloud Foam. Hence the comfort that you get from it is excellent.

The heel also provides excellent stability to the runner.

This is because the fit frame is made of 3d-molded TPU.

  •   Adida’s energy cloud is very lightweight.
  •   You will never feel stuffy in this shoe since the upper is made of mesh.
  •   The heel is locked down by an external extension of the midfoot cage.
  •   Adiwear outsole for high durability.
  •   Very responsive.
  •   You need to do a lot of rough use to make the shoe show visible signs of wear and tear.
 NEGATIVES
  •   The grip is not good on the wet surface.
  •   With all this stability, you may feel that the heel may feel is a bit stiff.
  •   The fit is narrower than regular shoes and can pose a problem for people with a wide foot.
  •   You may feel that the Plastic stripes dig into the foot.

My Final Opinion

Mizuno Wave Shadow is a decent running shoe at a very affordable price.

It provides ample responsiveness and can even be used for high mileage runs

This shoe is for those runners who prefer hassle-free runs.

The major portion of this shoe is made out of fabric.

The outsole is made up of high abrasion rubber.

You will look sporty and stylish in this pair of shoes.

The upper is made up of knit textile mesh. This makes the shoe very breathable.

You will always stay cool and comfy in this pair.

However, the tongue and collar are lightly padded. This may be a concern for some.

For your convenience in using the shoe, there is a Pull-tab at the heel.

The insoles are made of Air Cooled Memory Foam™. This protects your feet from impact when you strike the ground.

Another level of shock absorption happens at the midsole which is made of Dual-Lite foam.

  •   They are sturdy and waterproof.
  •   Most of our users find that the fit is as expected.
  •   Woven upper makes it very breathable.
  •   Air Cooled Memory Foam Insoles make the foot strike impact much softer.
 NEGATIVES
  •   For some, the fit may feel a bit off.
  •   If you have a heavy instep, then you may have trouble with the tongue as it is attached to the top through the stitching.

My Final Opinion

Skechers Flex Appeal 2.0 is a decent shoe at an affordable price.

However, some of the cons are hard to overlook and may not be suitable for all the runners.

I would recommend trying this one before you buy or at-least do some more research before placing an order.

Overall, a bold statement from Skechers and a great fit for roads.

As we have done with some of the other shoes above let’s first find out what the shoe is made of primarily.

You will find mainly two components.

Some textiles and some synthetic material.

The upper is very breathable and is made up of a soft mesh.

The overlays present on the upper is made of leather.

They provide stability to your foot and also lock down your midfoot.

The Sock-liner is made up of EVA foam. This provides you with extra comfort.

Also, this kind of foam gives you a more comfortable fit.

Moreover, the full-length Micro G® foam will give you a cushioned landing and a very speedy take-offs

You will find that, rubber tractions are placed in the high impact zones.

This make the shoe more durable.

  •   Lightweight and breathable upper mesh.
  •   The inner lining is a soft foam to provide extra cushion to the foot.
  •   Leather overlays will lock your feet firmly in place.
  •   You will get an added cushion from EVA sockliner.
  •   You will find this shoe very responsive due to Micro G® foam.
  •   The outsole has a lightweight rubber to enhance the durability of the shoe.
 NEGATIVES
  •   Runs one size smaller.

My Final Opinion

Under Armour Micro G Assert 6 is no doubt a great shoe. What I did not like is the sudden shrinkage of the size.

Other than this one shortcoming, then it is extremely responsive and the cushioning is just right.

It is lightweight and has been made by keeping the comfort of users in mind.

This shoe is very interesting.

It looks more like a daily shoe than a running shoe.

I guess, if PUMA changed the color of the midsole to black, this shoe would have been more for casual wear than sportswear.

‘Being said that, let’s look at what are the features of the shoe.

This shoe sports a metal-like finish. This gives it a  diamond plate-like appearance.

The outsole is made of carbon rubber. This is industrial quality and is very durable.

The midsole is made of SPRK foam and hence it provides an ample amount of cushion to your feet.

There are transition lines on the outsole. Hence this caters to your natural foot gait.

  •   The shoe flaunts a very clean finish unlike most of its peers.
  •   You will find this shoe very comfortable to wear.
  •   This shoe is very lightweight, so you will not feel held back by this shoe.
  •   Most users said that the shoe is true to its size.
  •   Also, great fit for narrow feet.
  •   The metallic flare shines through the mesh and gives it a very elegant but jazzy appearance.
  •   The presence of transition lines on the outsole will support your natural gait cycle.
 NEGATIVES
  •   Some users have complained that this shoe lacks arch support. You may have to use insoles.
  •   The Upper is not water-resistant, so you will not be able to take it out in a rain.
  •   Fit is not uniform, meaning, narrow for male users, wider for female users.
  •   Metal aglets of the laces are cumbersome and make noise with each step.
  •   The shoe needs to be broken in, so you will have to go through your initial discomfort.
  •   Laces come undone even if initially tied properly.

My Final Opinion

Puma Flare Metal is a decent shoe, however not free from its own drawbacks.

The most problematic being the arch support and fit. This is a rectifiable issue with support from additional insoles.

However, there are very few shoes which provide a great fit for a narrow foot. This is one of them.

In short, a decent shoe at a very decent price.

The outsole of Saucony Cohesion 11 is made up of a special type of high abrasion rubber.

This provides a better grip on the wet surface and will give you the confidence to take it out in any weather.

The midsole is made up of two components.

GRID cushioning system near the heel and REACT2U Foam, which runs the entire length of the footbed.

This provides you with exceptional comfort around your feet.

The upper is made up of breathable mesh which will keep your foot cool and dry.

Along with this, there are additional padding in the heel and the tongue area to provide you with additional comfort.

The overlays are reflective and will be visible under low light. They also provide additional support to your feet.

The insoles are removable. So, you can conveniently replace them with orthotic insoles.

  •   The tongue and collar area is padded and gives you an additional level of comfort.
  •   Very durable due to the presence of High abrasion rubber.
  •   Wide Toe-box.
 NEGATIVES
  •   Due to the presence of so much cushion, this shoe is less responsive.
  •   The shoe is bulky in appearance.

My Final Opinion

Saucony Cohesion 11 is a very good running shoe.

It is true to the size and gives you an exceptional level of cushioning.

Some of its marks get deducted due to a lack of responsiveness.

However, it gets an A+ when it comes to comfort. This makes it a great choice for long-distance runners.
